nah... i can't stand the Hives. I have been a fan of The Strokes since the first album too. I think anything they do trumps anything the Hives have put out, to be honest.

In the '80s Squeeze was my favorite Beatle-esque band, much as Oasis is now. Glenn Tilbrook, their lead singer and guitarist, is still kicking around occasionally touring and recording. I highly recommend him to Oasis and Beatles fans.

I wasn't all that into the Hives until i caught them in concert..... wow. They put on one of the best live shows I've ever ever seen, and although Tyrannosaurus Hives just came out a few days earlier, everyone at the show were going mad for the new songs.
They were being kicked off stage for going too long and they replied, "Fuck off, we'll pay the fine to play for these fine people". The show went on, people went bonkers.

How about the British trio Keane? Their debut album, Hopes and Fears, is terrific. However, with no guitars, I don't know if they can follow it up with anything different and/or compelling. The singer sounds a little bit like Bono, but his voice is more melodic I think. I highly recommend it to all Oasis fans. I came across it quite by accident while travelling back to the US on a British Airways flight last summer. Cheers!

Don't forget about Proud Mary people! They're awesome. By the way, has anybody got their last album, "Love & Light" . I can't find it anywhere. Thanks for the one who uploads it. Also must listen to: Doves, Ocean Colour Scene, The Magic Numbers, Richard Ashcroft, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Polyphonic Spree, Manic Street Preachers, Catherine Wheel, Athlete, Babyshambles, The Libertines, Supergrass, The Bravery, The Charlatans, The Coral, The Redwalls, The Thrills, and the list goes on. CHEERS

I'm loving Kasabian and Doves right now... Travis is pretty good as well.
